About You
Name: This doesn’t have to be your real name; there has to be something we could call you. It makes the board feel homey and more like a family.
Age: We just need to know if you’re mature enough to be in the threads you are in. It’s not that I don’t think you can handle any of it; I just don’t want parents telling me off for allowing their eleven-year-olds role-play mature themes.
Contact Details: Have any YIM or AIM screen names? Your e-mail would be good as well but if you don’t feel comfortable about giving it away, simply put EZ messaging or PM. This is just a way we can contact you if there are any problems.
Your Character
Name: Easy enough. If you’ve read the rules, you’d know the restrictions for this field. Middle names are not necessary but first names and last names should be placed here. Even royals have a last name. Unless you have a very good reason as to why your character should be known only by his/her first name, PM the admins and we’ll talk it over.
Nickname(s): If applicable. Quirky nicknames are fine; nothing that’s extremely bizarre though, I beg you.
Age: With the exception of Elves, human years are the basis of determining your character’s age.
Gender: Eh? Questions you say?
Race/Class: An outline of the races and classes wandering the world can be found in the Rules and Information forum. Mixed races are fine but please consider their alliances and interactions with other races.
Residence: Nezhrym has five continents to choose from. It’s your pick. Of course, you may choose to have your character reside on an unnamed island somewhere… XD
Occupation: This would, more often than not, go hand-in-hand with your character’s race or class.
Weapon(s): Sword? Bow and arrows? Crossbow? Spear? Axe? This is if your character has a weapon of some sort.
Appearance: Strictly no lists. A minimum of one paragraph, that is about four to five sentences, is required though I know many people are capable of writing more about their character’s appearance; like the way they hold themselves or the way they wear their clothing. Details about your character’s hair color, some hints of another color in their eyes, or even the pallor of their skin would be very, very good if you include them. Please take into consideration that not all people can have radiant blond hair and sparkling blue eyes. You may also opt to place distinguishing features here. A picture, if you have one for your character, would be helpful but that alone could very well get your application a denial.
Personality: Again, no lists. This time, I’d require two paragraphs as minimum. I’d like to get a clear picture of what your character is like or how you know your character. Believe me, it makes role-playing better if you know your character inside and out. What exactly is she like around people? Does he make friends easily? What does he do when somebody gets him mad? Does she have any fears? Is there any quality of hers that make her stand out? Or perhaps a weakness that doesn’t make him as tough as he seems after all?
History: The older your character is, the longer his/her story is. Your character’s background makes way for the kind of person he/she is at present. Perhaps their parents were a bit imposing or they couldn’t have cared less about their children; childhood experiences often create lasting marks on a person and continue to be carried until maturity. Make sure to include any and all important events that have affected your character in some way and his/her reactions and/or resolutions about such things. However, please keep in mind that not everybody has had a bad childhood or a perfect one for that matter. Three to four paragraphs would be good; more would be excellent.
Role-play Sample: Use your character. He/she can be doing anything from reading a book out by the village square, making grocery purchases or even engaging in battle and god-modding is allowed, if you must use other characters, but to a minimum extent; just make sure your character and his/her actions and thoughts are your primary concerns. If you were already accepted and are applying for another character, you don’t need to fill this out.
