In 1979, after a harrowing encounter with Death Eaters and with the news that his wife was pregnant both lightening and weighing on his heart, James Potter looked into a mirror and called for his best friend. Clotho, the spinner, created the thread of a human life. Lachesis, the apportioner, determined its length. Atropos, the inevitable, cut it at the time of death.
