1. Common Courtesy Please respect the administrators, moderators and your fellow role-players as you will be given the same. Harassing or flaming other members of the board would have a corresponding penalty. If you have a problem with another member for whatever reason, please try and sort it out through private messaging or through email. You can also contact the administrators. What the administrators say is final.
2. God-modding/Power-playingA big no-no. You only control your character. It isn’t for you to decide how another character reacts to yours except if it is an NPC (No Player Character) or if the players agree on it beforehand. AND you can’t have your character forever dodging strikes and spells, alright? A few scratches here and there would never hurt.
Wrong: Dernth sent an arrow of fire toward Lyal. It hit Lyal squarely on the chest and his clothes were immediately engulfed in flames.
Right Dernth took careful aim and sent an arrow of fire toward Lyal. He hoped it would hit Lyal where it would hurt the most.
I understand it can happen sometimes; but please try not to. It can be annoying or even insulting if you put actions into a character that isn’t yours.
3. Posts:In-character posts should be written in third person and in past tense.
Wrong: I ambled down the street rather aimlessly and stopped near a fruit stall.

No internet-speak (e.g. lol, jk, btw and such) when posting in-character; you can lol your head off out of character for all I care, just not in-character. Posts should be at least seven sentences or about one paragraph in length (though more would certainly be appreciated) and please check your spelling and grammar. If you can’t come up with seven sentences, try focusing on your character’s surrounding, thoughts, actions and even clothing. If you need more help, don’t hesitate to ask. Out-of-character posts should also be kept out of character. Side notes are okay and should be marked accordingly with “(())”s and/or “OOC:”s but an OOC discussion should be placed the appropriate forum.
4. Characters Though there is no limit to the number of characters you can play, you will only be allowed to have up to three magical or non-human characters – as much as possible of different races and ranks. You don't have to have a new account/username for every character you wish to play. As far as the names of your characters are concerned, the board welcomes all sorts of names; just don’t go overboard with it. I don’t want to see a “Little Strawberry Shortcake” and an “Orange Sherbet Fizz” running amuck on the board. *laughs*
Please remember to stay true to your characters as well and no Mary Sues or Gary Stus please. Nobody is perfect. If in the process of making your character, you find no flaws in him/her, make one. I don’t mind half-bloods on the board or mixed-bloods for that matter; again, just try not to go overboard with it. If I see a character with Light Elven, Dark Elven, Thyon, Mage and Enchanter blood and who happens to be a royal besides that, he/she will be denied without question.
5. Board rating: The present rating for the board is PG-13, which means swearing and sexual content is alright but should be kept to a minimum. Mark your threads (NC-17) if you must role-play more mature content. Keep in mind that the rating may change still.
6. Absences: If, for whatever reason it may be, you are going to be absent for a while or you decide to leave the board, please inform us so as not to leave your threads hanging. The Absences forum was created for a reason.
7. Last but certainy not the least: I’m not strict when it comes to rules; even I can break what boundaries I’ve set for the board. The rules are set as guidelines; they can be bended a bit. However… Frequent and apparent disregard for the rules will result in your being banned from the board. I can and will do it too. Please put ‘To play the game right, you’d better know every rule.’ at the end of your application form and enjoy yourself. I’ll be editing applications with regard to the phrase after acceptance so people can’t cheat their application.
Note: The rules may be subject to change from time to time.
