Her movements were a blur, even to herself. She should have expected this, considering she was without her brother and well within the borders of Kez now. Adara knew Adair wouldn't have thought much about her wandering off these days but to know that she'd been attacked by Dunmhars would certainly send him into a fit. He'd been overprotective of her ever since... Adara's amethystine eyes clouded. Her dagger sliced through one of the horrid creatures with more force than necessary. Both her parents had been murdered by these very creatures and she wasn't about to forgive them easily.
"I hate you. I hate you all." Adara's voice was full of conviction, even as she had just muttered the words quietly. The last of the Dunmhars burst into the tiniest particles, as they always did if they 'die' and Adara took her truimph with a weak smile. Her pageboy hat slipped off her head, letting her silvery locks fall past her shoulders. They glinted in the sunlight, contrasting her dark clothing and her increasingly dark mood. She didn't snatch it from the ground immediately as she would have ordinarily. Her small victory kept her still for a while, nursing a sliver of hope and a heavy heart.
She'd thought she was alone. This was a prticularly dense part of the forest she'd stumbled upon. The faint sound of rustling leaves behind her was a telltale sound of someone or something approaching her. Alarm flared into every fiber of her being. Before she knew it, her reflexes kicked in and she'd summoned Duil in the form she knew best — an arrow fitted into a bow. She whirled quickly and took blind aim but something stopped her from releasing the arrow.

Ryven had made the mistake of rustling the foliage around which had startled the girl. Now she was pointing a bow, with an arrow at the ready, right at him. A bow which had seemingly come out of nowhere. This was certainly an ability that he did not possess. He wondered if she might possibly be a more powerful Thyon than himself.
I mean you no harm, he spoke to her mind using is Thyonic abilities. If she was more powerful he in no way wanted to make his intentions unclear.
He was just passing through this forest when he heard a commotion, when he went to investigate he saw the Dunmhars attacking the young girl, however before he could aid her she had dispatched them all. It appeared that not only was she more advanced in her, what he thought to be Thyonic, abilities, she was also a very capable fighter

I mean you no harm.
The words filled her head and pulled her from her trance-like state. The instant her grip loosened about her weapons, they turned to the familiar silver mist, swirling around her for a moment and vanishing as if it didn't exist at all. Her lips released a small gasp. Adara's eyes widened at the sight of the young man she was about to put an arrow through. "I... I'm sorry. I didn't mean—" Her brightly-colored gaze dropped to her feet. She felt heat tainting her cheeks as she turned her back to him and hurriedly swiped her hat from the forest floor.
Her heart hammered against her chest. I almost hurt him! I can't believe it. Adair would be horrified. She may have communicated that to the young man but that wasn't her primary concern at the moment. Adara felt tears sting her eyes but willed herself not to let them fall. She hated her vulnerability to cry.
She curled her long hair into the pageboy hat and waited for an accusation. People seemed to do that often, accusing her of being an abnormality because of her silvery hair and violet eyes. That was why she usually changed their color. She didn't need to when she left their camp today and now this boy saw her with her "outrageous" features and she couldn't help but feel her heart wrench yet again.

He watched in awe as her weapons disappeared in a small cloud of mist. She most certainly controlled powers that he could not even dream of. He could only imagine how being able to summon a weapon could prove to be helpful when traveling.
"It's alright there was no harm done," he spoke to her this time. His voice was soothing as he tried to comfort her. He had not intended to scare her, he had merely hoped to help her.
He unintentionally intercepted a few of her thoughts, enough to know she was scared about him seeing her. He walked over to her and looked into her eyes, they were violet, something he had never seen before.
"I will not ask any questions, I find your unique features rather attractive," he said innocently. "If you do not want to tell me the reasons, I will not ask."

Adara wrapped her arms around her middle in an effort to calm herself. She shuddered to think that she could have hurt anything else besides a Dunmhar. Even her first killing made her nauseous still. She caught her lower lip between her teeth as he now spoke to her. "I could've hurt you..." She partially insisted in a voice that was barely audible.
She was too preoccupied in her thoughts to realize he'd walked toward her. When she found herself staring into Sapphire-colored eyes, her breathing stopped. His eyes had something about them that made it hard for her to turn away.
"Attractive?" She took a wary step back as a red tinge flooded her cheeks. Adara hoped he wouldn't be as observant as to notice it. That was very nice of him to say so. "Most people would've been repulsed by now. I don't usually walk about with my hair in its natural state or my eyes in their natural color." Again, she'd placed her lower lip between her teeth. The boy was, in fact, the first to tell her that someone would or could ever find her features... attractive.

Ryven look there a moment looking at her. He could why other people my find her strange or different, but he didn't see the world as other people did. He saw each person for who they were, not for what they looked like.
"Well I am not most people," he said assuringly. His voice was still smooth and soothing as he was still trying to calm her down. He could tell by the thoughts in her mind she was very frightened and angry, at least that is what he thought he could tell. He was still new at the whole mind reading ability.
"You don't need to worry about me, and it's obvious you don't need any protection," he began. "So if you wish it, I will leave you."

Adara's lips started an upward curl and gradually blossomed into a sincere smile. She could see that he wasn't most people now. He'd approached her when she thought he'd back off and he's told her he found her features attractive when most people would've found them appalling. "That good to know." More than he could imagine, Adara surmised as her eyes sparkled with childlike elation.
Protection, was it? Did she hear that right? It uncannily reminded her of something Adair would've said. That was why he'd approached her, wasn't it? He thought she needed help. Her amethystine gaze flickered with a hint of curiosity.
"Well, I... Where are you going then?" True, she could take care of herself. But then, she'd discovered many of her powers only recently... after her father died, murdered rather. But something about the young man made Adara want to keep him from leaving right now.

Ryven's sapphire eyes looked away from Adara and into the forest. He never knew he would go he just wandered. She wanted to know something he didn't even know. He remember that there was a small village at the other side of this forest.
"I know of a small village on the other side of this forest," he said smiling. "I was planning on stopping by there."
He wanted her to feel comfortable, he did not want her to be frightened. She seemed like the kind of person who would rather be left alone. But that could be because of her unique features, or maybe even her powers.

Adara stared at him for a moment as he looked away. He seemed to be contemplating his answer very well; perhaps he was a traveller as was she. Stopping? He was stopping there, which means he wasn't staying there for long. She held her tongue, refraining from asking any more questions. She surmised he'd think of her as someone who was prying into something she had no business in.
"Oh, I see." She could have smacked herself right then and there as she tried not to wince outwardly. Absurd, that was one of the perfect ways to describe what she'd just said.
"The other side of the forest?" She echoed with slight interest. She'd never ventured this far from home before. Then again, she'd never been without one before. Her home was with Adair now and it went wherever they went. "Do you live there?" She asked impulsively.

He looked back to her. What did he live? He had left his home many years ago, the memories were too much for him to bare. Home was not where he wanted to be, in fact it was last place he wanted to see.
"No," he answered her question trying to guard his thoughts so she would not detect the depressing thoughts that the word home had stirred up. He did not want her thinking she had caused something. "I was just stopping by so I could get something to eat," he finished.
He struggled internally to push the memories of his sister's death out of his mind so that this young lady would not accidentally see them. He did not want to depress her.

He may not have been communicative but Adara saw that something troubled him. "I'm sorry," She flinched. "That seemed rude of me to ask." She scolded her self for letting her impulses burst out like that. She knew she shouldn't have asked anything else but no... She just had to ask one more question. She felt his inward struggle as if it were her own. Ugh. How she hated her powers some times. It wasn't as if she chose to be born this way. Her heart dropped. She wished her parents were still alive. There were so many questions she wanted to ask. Her sadness was quickly replaced with a surge of rage. 'We will find the Guardians, Father.' She mentally promised her father with as much resolution as she could muster.
"And speaking of being rude, I have again been rude to not introduce myself." Her shoulders sagged slightly at the onset of the realization. "I'm not very good at things like this so I won't be fancy." The corner of her mouth raised to form a half-smile. "I'm Adara Pravi and it would have been more pleasant if we hadn't met under these circumstances but it's nice to have met you anyway." A sliver of self-pity flashed across her features momentarily.

Ryven could sense her inner turmoil and inner conflict however he did not want to upset her by talking about it. He smiled at her she introduced herself, he realized that he was not being his usual self, but he had not come across too many people who possessed similar abilities.
"It is a pleasure to meet you Adara, my name is Ryven Lancata," he said in a cheerful voice.
He could sense the feeling of loss flowing from her, the same kind of loss he had experienced. He felt sorry for her, and wanted to help her in any way he could.

"Tis an honor to meet you, Ryven." She gave a brief curtsy and smiled at her new acquaintance. 'That is an interesting name, maybe even odd... How was it he was named such, I wonder...' Her musings were unintentionally communicated through telepathy as she delved into her own thoughts for the quickest of moments.
"You were capable of telepathy." Her amethystine gaze brightened as the realization dawned upon her. It hadn't occurred to her before, considering she was preoccupied with thoughts of fury regarding the Dunmhars and embarrassment regarding the near-kill incident with Ryven. "You must be of the Mage or Thyon race, aren't you?"

"I am a Thyon," he replied with smile.
He heard her thoughts about his name and chuckled a little as he remembered some of things that people said about it. He knew his name was strange and he wasn't sure of how his parents had thought of it.
He could tell that like he, she was also of a magical race for she possessed many of the same abilities as he did. Though she was able to summon that weapon, that was something he was never able to do.
"Are you Thyon or Mage?" he asked curiously.

"That explains many things." She nodded as he'd supplied her the answer to her question. "You heard me, didn't you?" One of Adara's pale-colored brows quirked up in question as Ryven let out a chuckle. "I haven't had time to control telepathy since my brother is also capable and well, I didn't need to limit it... yet." She shrugged, smiling.
"Thyon," She clasped her hands behind her back and rocked back and forth on the heels of her feet. She noticed that he reciprocated her question. She was, after all, capable of telepathy as she'd just shown him... along with a couple of other abilities. Her parents had always told them they were of the Thyon race and that was what Adara stuck to.
