Ryven remembered his many incidents with uncontrolled telepathy. He knew that it could be a difficult power to control, but himself had learned to control it fairly early on, mainly because it was the first power that had manifested itself in him.
Even I do not know where my parents discovered my name, he said telepathically referring to her earlier unspoken question.
He scratched his chin. He was curious that she, being a Thyon, could possess power that even he could not, or even powers that he had never seen before. However he guarded his thoughts not wanting to startle her with his awe.

She laughed lightly when she heard him answer her question telepathically. 'You aren't the only one who can do that.' She told him, making use of her own abilities. As much as she despised her abilities some times, she wanted to learn all of them, wanted to make use of them to help others. She hated feeling useless even with the knowledge that she had capabilities that others didn't have.
Adara saw the question on his face. She always did have a keen eye, better than her brother's. She frowned slightly and asked, 'What is it?'. "I can see you questioning something." Adara shifted her weight to one leg as she regarded him thoughtfully. She hoped he would tell her what it was that was bothering him. She surmised she'd have to wonder about it for the rest of the day if he didn't.

He sighed heavily not wanting to ask her, but there was no avoiding that now. She would probably ask him over and over until he finally asked her.
"During the battle you summoned that weapon, I was just wondering how you able to do such things?" he asked as politely as he could. He hoped that this question would not upset her.

Adara summoned Duil effortlessly in the form of an arrow. She held it hovering above her hand with her hand approximately in the middle of its length. "This?" She raised her pale-colored eyebrows. She deliberated her answer carefully. "My parents call it Duil," She started. "I honestly don't know what it is either." She stopped before she choked on her own words. She, again, started wishing her parents were here with her. She and Adair had a lot of unanswered questions and she surmised her parents would like meeting Ryven.
"It's partly illusion, partly... me." She waved her hand, making the arrow multiply its number to three in an instant. "It's part of me, that I know. No one else can touch it or yield it unless I will it be such. I'm sorry," Adara cast an apologetic smile at Ryven. "Even I can't fully understand it, much less explain it."

Ryven nodded, he had never heard of anything quite like this "Duil," and he could understand not knowing much about powers. He still did not understand a lot the powers he possessed, but he was always curious to learn.
"That is indeed a useful power to possess," he said. Being able to summon a weapon into battle is indeed useful. If one had that power, one would never need to carry a weapon.
He was picking up her thoughts of her parents, but he quickly pushed them away, he did not want to intrude upon her memories. He never did, he found it very rude.
"We shouldn't stay out here too long, I'm sure there are more Dunmhars."

"I suppose so." She agreed. Duil was the most useful power she possessed, in her opinion. It was, however, the most difficult to understand and control. Adara lowered her hand, causing the silver Duil arrows to turn into silver mist. A small smile touched her lips. "I, however, have yet to have full control over it." It took most of her concentration and control to have Duil appear as exactly as she wanted but she was getting better at it than when she'd first encountered it.
"Oh. Yes, I doubt we should..." She said distantly. She'd hate to face more Dunmhars.
((Feel free to bring more Dunmhars into the scene if you like... ^_^))

It was too late, already Ryven could feel the thoughts of hate and malice from Dunmhars. They had surrounded them.
"They're here," he whispered to Adara. He looked around trying to catch the sight of one of them, he knew they were lurking in the trees, they were close.
He drew his sword and prepared himself for the coming battle, he would protect this girl with his life if need be. He did not know her, but something about her made him want to.

Adara shut her eyes for a fleeting moment, willing herself to focus. A whiff of the previously fresh air burned her lungs; burned of hatred and malice. That meant only one thing: they'd surrounded them. Her eyes opened then, revealing traces of uncertainty and just a sliver of sadness.
"You don't have to stay, you know." She whispered back. Ryven could get hurt and that was the least of what Adara would've wanted... Another innocent hurt because of her... Her hands involuntarily clenched into a fists by her side.
As she had no solid weapons at the moment, she had to use Duil. She summoned it once again as an old-fashioned set of bow and arrow. Threading the arrow into the bow, she tugged at it; she was ready for any battle. She had to remember to keep her aim accurate though...

Ryven knew that just the two of them against the greater number of Dunmhars was going to be interesting. He didn't like using his powers to fight however this time, he knew, he would have to.
He looked at Adara and smiled. "I'm not leaving you," he replied. He realized that he could be hurt or even killed in this battle, but he still feeling the odd feeling. Something inside of him was telling him to fight with all of his might to protect her.
What is so special about her? he thought.

"I'm not leaving you."
Her arms lowered momentarily. Her gaze shot him a look of mingling curiosity and surprise. Adara took time to swallow the lump that had formed in her throat. She had no idea about the skills Ryven might have in a battle with the Dunmhars nor had she the slightest clue about what he was thinking staying with her.
"Then I'd prefer you stay close so I may keep an eye on you." Her amethystine gaze flared with determination.
She raised her arms and took careful aim at the approaching Dunmhar. Before it had gotten the chance to swing its weapon down at her, she released her arrow, not even bothering to see if it had hit the creature; she was sure it had. Quick as lightning, she strung two more arrows into her bow and sent them flying past Ryven's head.

Ryven drew his sword and in process sliced through the nearest Dunmhar's chest. He knew that if his swords skill began to fail him he could always fall back on to his Thyonic skills. He cut down another one of the beasts with ease, these creatures were not hard for him to kill, especially when you were decently skilled with a sword.
He looked briefly over to Adara who was handling the creatures with ease, she didn't even need him.

Out of the corner of her eye, she watched Ryven wield a sword. 'You do pretty well with that.' She told him, her lips curling upward.
A Dunmhar nearly did take a swipe at her shoulder had it not been for the fact that she had her agility in advantage. Duil reappeared in her grasp as a long, slender dagger that was buried into the vile creature. Her heart couldn't quite stopp its rapid beating just yet.

Thank you he replied telepathically.
He cut down several more Dunmhars, and continued forward into the horde, he soon realized his error. He quickly found himself surrounded and outnumbered. The creatures lunged at him, and in desperation he used his powers of telekinesis so send all flying into each other.
The standing Dunmhars looked at him and to Adara. He figured that these things were stupid but they had to have some self preservation in them. He silently prayed they would retreat.

She'd emitted a sharp gasp when the creatures swarmed around Ryven. "Ryven!" Adara's voice was admittedly a tad too shrill. She halted mid-step when he telekinetically shoved them away. She had Duil morph into a sword and brought it down quickly on the Dunmhar closest to Ryven.
"Are you alright?" She asked in a barely audible voice that was spiked with the concern that had flared into her amethystine gaze. She could never have forgiven herself if he'd gotten hurt.

He smirked as he watched the Dunmhars fly into each other and nearby trees and rocks, it was quite an amusing sight. He heard Adara question and looked over to her.
"I'm alright," he said, smirking at her. "It'll take more Dunmhars than that to knock me down."
He could she that actually cared whether or not he was injured. He doubted it was his safety, but her own conscious she cared about. But then again he has been know to be wrong.
